The Libertarian Party of Dallas County held a tax protest on Tuesday, April 17th outside the Earl Cabell Federal Building in downtown Dallas. It was a great time! We held signs and handed out fake $100s with “Taxation is Theft” printed on them. We got lots of car honks and many people showed support for our message – even some cops (weird, huh).
As Libertarians, we reject all forms of taxation because we oppose the use of force against peaceful people. Americans pay taxes because they’re afraid of what the government will do to them if they don’t pay – they’ll be fined, harassed, and jailed. Forced charity is not real charity. We believe individuals should have the right to spend, save, and donate their own money as they see fit. The government needs to start acting responsibly and cut its spending!
