Woman Who Recorded Call Did Not Break the Law

A federal appellate court in Chicago says a woman who secretly recorded a Merrill Lynch co-worker of her husband's cursing him over the telephone during the Thanksgiving holiday didn't violate Illinois' eavesdropping law.

The law prohibits someone from recording another person without that person's permission.
