Winter Storm Arrives in Georgia

After freezing and icing parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, a huge winter storm arrived in Georgia Wednesday morning, dropping a mix of ice and rain on the Southeast that was expected to continue pelting the region through the day and into Thursday morning.

An inch or more of ice was expected to accumulate from east of Atlanta into the Carolinas, making travel treacherous.
