A British man has been charged by US authorities over the alleged hacking of government computer systems, including US Army and Nasa networks.

A grand jury in Newark, New Jersey, says in an indictment that Lauri Love, of Stradishall, England, and his partners stole information about military service members and other US government employees.

The government says the purpose was "to disrupt the operations and infrastructure" of the federal government.

Love, 28, was arrested on Friday at his home in Stradishall, about 70 miles (112km) north of London.
