Turkish Police Again Battle Protesters

Riot police are re-entering Istanbul's Taksim Square after defiant protesters swarmed back in by the thousands, hours after authorities forced through barricades in the same square and pushed away demonstrators in early morning clashes.

Massive plumes of tear gas billowed upward, and police fired water cannons Tuesday night, a similar scene to earlier that day. CBS News' Holly Williams reports the tear gas and water cannons prompted many of the protesters to flee the square into Gezi Park that morning, where many had been camping. There were also strong signs that police had used rubber bullets, she says.
