The police officer who shot and killed a Clarksville woman's dog on Saturday, Nov. 20, while looking for a runaway boy is being cleared of any wrongdoing and will not receive any disciplinary action, according to Al Ansley, chief of Clarksville Police.
Ansley said Officer Todd Bell felt he was in danger and took the action he thought he needed to take.
"The incident was reviewed by the command staff and then by me," Ansley said. "We also had one of the Police Department's investigators investigate the scene."
Ansley said police realize the dog was restrained and on private property.
