Three people who worked at the National Security Agency have been disciplined as a result of information developed during the investigation into leaks by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, according to a letter the NSA sent to Congress this week.

One person—a civilian NSA employee—lost his security clearance after admitting to the FBI that he entered his password on Snowden's computer terminal, NSA legislative liaison Ethan Bauman said in a letter to top staffers at the House Judiciary Committee.

"Unbeknownst to the civilian, Mr. Snowden was able to capture the password, allowing him even greater access to classified information. The civilian was not aware that Mr. Snowden intended to unlawfully disclose classified information," Bauman wrote in the letter.
