Interactive Brokers Group Chief Executive Thomas Peterffy may not be done on the U.S. political stage.

The billionaire Hungarian immigrant, who spent heavily this fall to air a series of political ads warning against what he saw as America's slide into socialism, is considering formation of a political entity to continue advancing his views, he said.

"I am disappointed" in the U.S. election results, Mr. Peterffy said in an email Wednesday.

Mr. Peterffy is a veteran of electronic trading, particularly in stock-options markets, where he developed systems and means of trading that helped usher in a new structure for the sector. His rags-to-riches story — growing up in post-World War II Hungary and then earning success after immigrating to the U.S. –was featured in the ads he paid to run on networks like CNN and CNBC over the last six weeks.
