South Carolina Bill Would Allow Concealed Guns in Bars

A bill to allow the carrying of concealed-weapons in bars and restaurants passed the S.C. Senate last week and is in the House judiciary committee for consideration.

According to the state's legislative website, the bill (S. 308) passed with bipartisan support, 33-5, last week and if approved by the house and signed by the governor would allow those with concealed-weapons permits to carry their firearms "in a business that sells alcohol to be consumed on the premises" until midnight.

Those carrying firearms are not permitted to consume alcohol, the bill said.
