Neo-conservative hawks won a small victory Tuesday when they foced the administration to accept Congressional oversight of any final deal it inks with Iran. The president grudgingly bowed after it became clear that the backers of the oversight bill had enough votes to override his veto after pro-Israel Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer joined forces with conservative hawks in Congress. But even though Congress now has the power to derail any potential deal, it would be very foolish for it to actually do so.
That's because, notes Reason Foundation Senior Analyst Shikha Dalmia, there are no better options to halt Iran's march toward a nuclear weapon.
