Sen. Lieberman Backs Term Limits

Twenty-four years in the U.S. Senate has changed Joe Lieberman's thinking on at least one issue: Senators shouldn't be able to serve for 24 years.

"I've changed my position on this," Lieberman said in an interview with a local television station that aired Sunday. "I've always felt that there are term limits for senators. It's six years, and it's up to the voters to decide whether they want somebody to go on, and you need some people around here with some experience. I started out here, 24 years ago, 99th in seniority. I leave here 20th in seniority. So it changes."
