Russians Plan to Take Olympic Torch into Space

Next year, the Winter Olympics are going to be held in the Russian city of Sochi. To mark the occasion, Russia's Olympic Torch relay will be taking the Olympic Torch where no Torch has gone before – into outer space.

The Russian space agencyannounced on Tuesday that the Torch will accompany cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin on a Soyuz mission to the International Space Station in November, where he'll be accompanied by Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata and NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio.
