The balloons are bobbing, the tunes are blaring, and somewhere nearby Republican powerhouse Charlie Baker is preparing to introduce Richard Tisei.

It's a festive but frenzied scene tonight in the Peabody Marriott, where several hundred Republican operatives and North Shore politicos have gathered to find out who has won the 6th Congressional District seat.

The standing-room only crowd broke out into cheers and applause as Fox News projected that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has won in Arkansas.
