An immigration appeals tribunal ruled Monday that sending a militant Islamic preacher known as Abu Qatada to Jordan to face terrorism charges would violate his right to a fair trial under European human rights law.
Judge John Mitting ordered Abu Qatada, 52, whose real name is Omar Mahmoud Mohammed Othman, to be released from prison on Tuesday under tight bail conditions.
