Police Officer Arrested for Lying To Get Food Stamps

A Beaverton police officer was arrested Friday on accusations that he lied to obtain public assistance, including food stamps.

Officer Christopher Warren faces one count of first-degree theft, three counts of unsworn falsification, two counts of unlawfully obtaining public assistance and one count of unlawfully obtaining and using food stamps, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Warren turned himself in, said Sgt. Vance Stimler, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.
