Only One Third of Americans Support Supreme Court Decision on Voting Rights

Writer: OurStudioOurStudio

Americans across racial lines said they disapproved of the decision, according to the survey from ABC News and the Washington Post. In the ruling, the court struck down a formula used to determine which parts of the nation were subject to pre-screening by the federal government before making any changes to election laws.

According to the survey, a majority — 51 percent — said they disapproved of the ruling. Among African Americans, more than seven in 10 said they did not agree with the high court's findings. Whites disapproved at a 48-33 percent clip, while a full half of Hispanics said they were against the ruling.
