Incoming Mayor Bill de Blasio is slated to name William Bratton the city's new police commissioner Thursday, picking a man with a long track record in law enforcement who did the job in the 1990s.
For the second time, Bratton will succeed Commissioner Raymond Kelly as head of the nation's largest police force.
Bratton, 66, will be announced as the new commissioner, sources tell The News, on Thursday at the Red Hook Justice Community Center by the newly minted mayor, who had campaigned against the NYPD's use of stop and frisk.
