An American charged with espionage—on the lamb—fleeing across the world was dominating the news until another escape, with Rusty the Red Panda.

Rusty the Red Panda disappeared from the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. Sunday. Immediately, the zoo tweeted for help and Washington was suddenly enthralled with another chase with the zoo's "All Points Bulletin" being retweeted three thousand times in an hour.
