SANTA FE — New Mexico lawmakers, while serving during the legislative session, have immunity from arrest and can get dispensation from traffic citations.
So says the state Constitution. Sort of.
"Yeah, during my time in the Roundhouse I heard that they (legislators) can't be stopped for speeding if they're heading to the Legislature," former state Rep. Andy Nuñez, I-Hatch, told New Mexico Watchdog.
