A federal judge has given the town of Farmington more time to respond to a wrongful death lawsuit stemming from the fatal police shooting of a U.S. Army veteran.
Authorities said 28-year-old Justin Crowley-Smilek was shot outside Town Hall in November 2011 after threatening Officer Ryan Rosie with a knife. Crowley-Smilek, who served in Afghanistan, was suffering from post-traumatic stress.
