Luxembourg's Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said Wednesday his government would resign following an intense parliamentary debate over alleged corruption in the country's secret service.
The move means the small euro-zone member will have new elections in the next three months—in which Mr. Juncker, Europe's longest-serving elected leader, could be returned to office.
After a parliamentary session Wednesday evening, Mr. Juncker said he would go to Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg and the country's head of state, and hand in the government's resignation Thursday morning.
