Judge Reduces Possible Sentence For Bradley Manning

A US military judge has reduced the potential sentence for an Army private accused of sending reams of classified documents to WikiLeaks.

Colonel Denise Lind ruled Private First Class Bradley Manning would have 112 days shaved off any prison sentence handed down if he is convicted.

Defence attorneys had sought to have the charges against Manning dismissed, claiming the former intelligence analyst suffered illegal pre-trial punishment during nine months in a Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Virginia.
