India Central Bank to Hike Interest Rates

The Reserve Bank of India on Monday announced fresh measures, including hiking a couple of interest rates, to tackle a continued slide in rupee.

The central bank increased both the bank rate and the marginal standing facility, or MSF, rate to 10.25 percent each from 8.25 percent with immediate effect.
