Hollande Warns France Will Stop Islamist Advance in Mali

France is prepared to intervene in Mali as fighting continues between army forces and Islamist rebels who are battling for control over the north of the country.

The French president, François Hollande, said France "will be ready to stop the terrorists' advance if it continues".
