Guys Who Gave Goodell His Job Hire Former FBI Director to Investigate If He Should Keep His Job

A quick update on the cluster-you-know-what currently engulfing the NFL. The league announced Wednesday that it was hiring former FBI director Robert Mueller to conduct an independent investigation to find out whether or not those in the front office had the Ray Rice elevator knockout tape.

Mueller took over the FBI a week before the September 11 attacks and retired shortly after the Boston Marathon bombings. You may remember that Mueller had threatened to resign from the Bush administration back in 2004 when it was discovered that the government had developed a program to eavesdrop on American citizens. We all know how that turned out.
