Former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley Considering Illinois Governor Bid

(Reuters)—Former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley said on Tuesday that he would form an "exploratory campaign" to run for governor of Illinois after state lawmakers failed to pass key measures during the recent legislative session.

Daley, who served under President Barack Obama from January 2011 to January 2012, would face Governor Pat Quinn in the Democratic primary ahead of next year's election. Quinn took office in 2009 and won a full term in 2010.
