Former Gov. George Ryan finished serving his sentence this morning, signing paperwork ending his home confinement, said Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke. Ryan still must complete one year of court supervision, Burke said.

Ryan received a 6 and a half year sentence after being convicted of racketeering and fraud. Early this year he was released from federal prison in Terre Haute, Ind., to home confinement at his Kankakee residence to serve the remainder of his sentence.
