Footloose

James Neisler says that officials at the Arapahoe County, Colorado, jail knew he had diabetes. When his feet swelled and his toes began to blister, he told them he needed medical attention. But he was just told to be patient. He continued to ask for help for several days but was denied. Only after other inmates began to complain about the smell did jailers take him to the hospital. By then his right foot was gangrenous, and doctors had to remove all five toes. He is now suing the jail and the company it hires to provide medical car.
