Slightly shrinking the bulky file of worst-kept secrets, the Justice Department officially confirmed Thursday morning that Fox News correspondent James Rosen is the journalist whose e-mail was searched in connection with an investigation into leaks of classified intelligence about North Korean nuclear tests.
In a court filing in the prosecution of State Department contractor Stephen Kim, prosecutors publicly identified Rosen for the first time.
"The United States hereby gives notice to the Court, defense counsel, and the defendant, that the following facts have been declassified. The 'reporter for a national news organization' to whom the defendant is alleged to have made an unauthorized disclosure of national defense information, as charged in Count One of the Indictment…is James Rosen of Fox News," the prosecutors wrote.
