Father of California Lawmaker Killed in Home Burglary in LA

A California state assemblyman's father was shot to death during a robbery at his Los Angeles home Wednesday, police said.

Joseph Gatto, 78, father of Assemblyman Mike Gatto, was discovered by his daughter slumped over a desk in his ransacked home in Silver Lake at around 8:15 p.m., Los Angeles Times reported.

Investigators said he was shot in the stomach during an apparent break-in.
