EU Health Commissioner Quits Amid Scandal

The EU health commissioner has resigned over a bribery scandal involving tobacco, presenting an unwanted distraction to the bloc's executive arm on the eve of a summit meeting of European leaders.

John Dalli, the commissioner from Malta, submitted his resignation amid an investigation by the EU's anti-fraud watch dog, OLAF, into his dealings with aa summit meeting of European leaders Maltese entrepreneur.
