Apple is winning big in Netherlands. According to IDG News Service, the Dutch court has ordered the sales ban of a few Samsung Galaxy devices, because they are infringing a patent owned by Apple that can scroll through a photo gallery using a touchscreen. The ban, according to the Court of The Hague, is only applicable to Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 2.2.1 and above that doesn't use Samsung's patented photo gallery software.
Apparently Apple has cleverly patented a scrolling feature that will roll past a zoomed-in image, thereby slightly revealing a portion of the next set of images. The scrolling feature is evident on Samsung's current line of Galaxy devices, and now the court is ordering the South Korean giant to pay 100,000 euros or $129,000 per day to Apple if the patent infringement will continue. Apple has yet to release an official statement while a Samsung spokesperson told IDG News Service that the company is very disappointed with the ruling of the Dutch court.
