Dozens Indicted by Feds in $1 Billion Gambling Ring

A total of 34 people and 23 entities have been indicted in an Internet and telephone illegal gambling operation that took in more than $1 billion in bets, the Department of Justice said Wednesday.

Authorities said Bartice Alan King of Spring, Texas, and others used a business called Legendz Sports beginning in 2003 to illegally take wagers by Internet and phone from Costa Rica and then Panama.
