Developing: Thad Cochran (R) Called Winner in Mississippi

Mississippi Republican Thad Cochran won a seventh Senate term after surviving a bitter primary fight with a tea party-backed candidate.

Republicans also won contests in Alabama, Maine, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The GOP won twice in Oklahoma, where both Senate seats were on the ballot because of the pending resignation of Tom Coburn.
