Chris Matthews Apologizes on Behalf of All White People to Black Colleagues in Wake of Zimmerman Ver

Last night on Hardball, during a segment on Trayvon Martin, Chris Matthews apologized to his black colleagues on behalf of all white people after they discussed their experiences growing up as young black men.
NBC News executive Val Nichola explained how he was targeted as a teenager in an op-ed for MSNBC.com titled "I Could Have Been Trayvon Martin." During the segment Matthews spoke to Nichola and former RNC chairman Michael Steele, who is a MSNBC political analyst.
Concluding his discussion with Nichola and Steele Matthews made his apology on behalf of all white people.

"We're going to continue this conversation privately and on television," Matthews said, wrapping up the segment. "I'll just tell you one thing and I'm speaking now for all white people but especially those who have tried to change in the last 50 or 60 years—and a lot of them have really tried to change—I'm sorry for this stuff. That's all I'm saying."
