Chinese Communist Party Holding Four-Day Closed-Door Meeting on Economic Reform

The top leaders of China's ruling Communist Party gathered Saturday in Beijing at the start of a four-day, closed-door meeting that could unveil reforms to sustain economic development in the world's second largest economy.

The session, attended by the nearly 380 members of the party's central committee, kicked off with the issue of "comprehensively deepening reform" at the top of their agenda, reported Xinhua, the state news agency. The meeting is called the third plenary session as it represents the third time this central committee has met since the party announced China's new leaders last fall.
