Chicago Teachers Will Vote Sunday on New Contract

Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis said on Friday that a consultative body of the union would vote on Sunday on a new contract, which could end a five-day strike over Mayor Rahm Emanuel's demand for education reforms.

Lewis said the union's House of Delegates, which includes about 800 union activists representing the 29,000 teachers and support staff, met on Friday but did not vote on an agreement in principle between the union and Chicago Public Schools.
