Chicago Teachers Preparing to Strike

In an indication the compromise over the longer day did little to appease teachers, the Chicago Teachers Union House of Delegates Wednesday gave their president the OK to issue a 10-day walkout notice at any time.

"It says a lot about how our members feel and where they are right now," said CTU president Karen Lewis. "They feel totally disrespected by how (the longer day) has been rolled out."
