Chicago Lawyer Suing City For Allowing Wine Store in 'Dry' Area

CHICAGO, July 10 (UPI) — A Chicago lawyer says he is suing the city for allowing a wine store to open in a neighborhood where people voted 31 years ago to ban alcohol.

Jeffrey Jarmuth says in the federal lawsuit people in the area voted in a 1982 local option election to go "dry without exceptions" in an area that includes the building where Don Sritong signed a lease a year ago and plans to open Just Grapes next month, Crain's Chicago Business reported Wednesday.
