British Member of Parliament Seeking to Impose Sanctions on Twitter

Mr Galloway—himself a prolific tweeter with over 116,000 followers—has filed an early day parliamentary motion saying that Twitter is "used for a variety of criminal activities including sending malicious communications".

"Twitter is a US-based enterprise whose primary motivation is to maximise its profits," the motion states, adding that the microblogging site's failure to hand information to the police about criminal communications is "reprehensible".
