Brickbat: Too Violent for Chicago

Persepolis


Chicago Public Schools officials originally approved "Persepolis," a graphic novel about life during the Iranian revolution, for the seventh-grade curriculum. But they recently changed their minds and told teachers not to use the book and to remove it from their classrooms. Officials said the book is too violent. Many students have protested the change.
