Angolan Teen Jailed For Printing T-Shirts Calling President a Dictator Begins Hunger Strike

Writer: OurStudioOurStudio

An Angolan teenager, who was arrested about two months ago after printing T-shirts calling President Jose Eduardo dos Santos a dictator, has gone on hunger strike, his lawyer says.

Manuel Chivonde Nito Alves's lawyer said he was protesting against his unjust and inhumane treatment.

Mr Alves had the T-shirts printed for an anti-government march, which was dispersed by the police in September.

He has been charged with insulting the president.
