RICHMOND, Va. (AP)—Axle problems left more than 200 passengers stuck on an Amtrak train for 14 hours outside Richmond.

Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole says the dining car developed axle problems that disabled the Silver Service train 2 miles north of Richmond around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Cole says the car couldn't be moved or removed, so the train slowly began moving to a siding in Richmond at 3:45 a.m. Monday. It arrived around 6:30 a.m. and resumed its trip at 7:12 a.m. after the dining car was replaced.
