Hands down, the sweetest new products to come out of CES are from 3D Systems, whose ChefJet line of 3D printers, designed for professional kitchens, can print sugary delights in any of several flavors.
The monochrome ChefJet and full-color ChefJet Pro should help make the 3D printing of food a more mainstream art. While NASA is experimenting with 3D printing pizza and other foods for astronauts, the new ChefJet printers are decidedly more down to Earth.
The ChefJet 3D printer is a monochrome, countertop-sized printer with a generous build volume of 8 by 8 by 6 inches, making it ideal for single-color confections and cake toppers. ChefJet printable materials come in a variety of recipes, including chocolate, vanilla, mint, sour apple, cherry, and watermelon.
